About the Hall

We are the ICKENHAM VILLAGE HALL ASSOCIATION LIMITED, 33 SWAKELEYS ROAD, ICKENHAM, UB10 8DG, a Registered Society (formerly known as an Industrial and Provident Society) under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014.

The Hall was opened in 1927 by Princess Victoria, sister of King George V, and has been used variously as a bank, a school, and a congregation church whilst the United Reform Church was being built.

The Hall is run and managed by a group of local people, who form a voluntary “Village Hall Committee Team”.  They meet monthly to decide on actions necessary to operate the Hall, maintain it in good order and effect improvements within budget.  The income from hiring the Hall is essential to ensure that lckenham Village Hall remains operational.

We welcome any resident in lckenham who is interested in becoming a Member of the Association or in joining the Committee Team.

The premises are licensed by the London Borough of Hillingdon for music and dancing, but please note that the hall is not owned by the Council.  Chairs are available to seat a permitted maximum of 200 people in a theatre style, or 100 seated at tables.  The stage has a piano, professional lighting, a public address system with a hearing loop, and two changing areas.  In support of the main facilities there is a kitchen and preparation area, with a gas cooker, hot water urn, electric warming oven, fridge/freezer, crockery, and cutlery.

All of the facilities are included in the cost of booking.

The Hall is regularly hired by local groups, such as Ickenham Residents’ Association (AGMs), Ickenham Festival Events, Ickenham Forum meetings, Blood Donor sessions, Charity fund raising events, Toddler Groups, Floral Arts Group, Ickenham & Swakeleys Horticultural Society, Zumba sessions, keep fit and badminton clubs.  The Hall is also popular for children’s parties, tea dances, jumble sales and craft fairs.

You’ll find other pages of interest on the website, including a reasonably comprehensive history of the Hall and a gallery of pictures.

Bookings are best made on-line or, if necessary, by phoning the Lettings Secretary on 07557 270 567.
